As the colourful leaves flutter softly to the ground and as the warmer days shorten we are, our minds are drawn indoors to our fall/winter lodgings.

Lighting is another big factor in creating a warm, cozy feeling in your home. Choose lighting that is appropriate for the tasks you do in the room you are decorating. Bathe your space in warmth by light every zone in your space.

A very quick way of upping the cozy factor in your home is by changing your accessories. Switch out accent pillows, throws and wall art. When switching out textiles be sure to introduce all kinds of textures for a layered look. This easy change can will renew your space and uplift you for the coming season.
5. Outdoor Spaces
Don’t forget that part of hibernating is prepping/organizing your outdoor spaces. Get organized by prepping and storing all of your gardening/lawn equipment. Clean your eavestroughs, check your furnace, fireplace/chimney and smoke alarm before the cool weather comes so you are prepared in advance.
Go thru your holiday lighting and decor. Purge, donate or sell anything that you no longer use and put your decor in an accessible place for quick set up when the time comes.
